The lights on your L'OR BARISTA coffee machine will help you use, clean, and maintain your machine. Please find below the meanings of the different lights on the L'OR BARISTA machine:
The L'OR BARISTA coffee machine has been created to work with L'OR classic espresso capsules and L'OR BARISTA double espresso capsules, as well as Nespresso®* capsules and most other compatible capsules, such as Café Royal®*, Carte Noire®, Grand'Mère®*, illy®*, Lavazza®*, Senseo®, and most supermarket brands.
*Brand belonging to a third party unrelated to JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS
To set up and use your L'OR BARISTA coffee machine:
Rinse and fill the water tank.
Place the water tank on the machine.
Place a bowl under the machine’s nozzles (where the coffee usually flows out). Do not insert a capsule, and make sure the lever is down.
Press the on/off button to turn on the machine. The on/off button will flash slowly to indicate that the machine is preheating.
When all the lights on the machine are on continuously, press the lungo button. The water flows through the nozzles. Note: when the internal water circuit is empty, the machine hums. When there is water running through the machine, the buzzing sound is less loud. This is normal.
The machine is ready for use when all buttons are lit continuously.
Remove the bowl.
The machine is now ready for use.
To use the L'OR BARISTA coffee machine, simply raise the lever and insert your single or double espresso capsule. Close the capsule compartment by lowering the lever. The machine will automatically recognize which type of capsule you have inserted. Press the button of your choice: ristretto, espresso, or lungo.

Press the on/off button on the machine. The on/off button will start flashing to indicate that the machine is preheating.
Place one or two cups under the coffee nozzles, depending on how much coffee you want to brew.

Several factors can influence the temperature of the coffee after preparation. These tips allow you to optimize the temperature of your coffee prepared with the L'OR BARISTA machine.
Cup size and shape
Thick-walled mugs absorb more heat than thin-walled mugs. For hotter coffee, use a thin-walled cup. Also, to get really hot coffee, don't use a cup that's too big for the coffee you're making. Whenever possible, adjust the size of your cup to the size of the coffee you are brewing.
Cup and machine temperature
Place a cup under the coffee dispensing nozzles and press one of the coffee brewing buttons without using a capsule to preheat both the cup and the machine. You will notice that the coffee will stay hot longer.
Using milk
By adding cold milk to your coffee, you lower the temperature of your coffee. For a hot latte drink, pre-heat the milk before pouring it into your coffee.
